    Dear Dr. Suzy,

Thanks, as always, for your contributions to CounterPunch as well as your more overarching mission. Always Good Reading.

I was very sorry to hear the loss of your beloved Max. As someone who has lost several people in the last decade (and who mourns the losses incurred as oligarchs continue to rape the Earth), I send you my deepest condolences.

Wishing you good health as you work through your grief,

Oh why can’t we ever just go bonobos instead of always going to war?

Tiya and I wishing you the best (of what’s possible) in the new year to come. We know each day will be a struggle, but we are hopeful you will somehow be able to use it as a testament to your everlasting love and work with Max. Lots of high minded sounding words which only go so far, still we offer them in support and love.

Lots of admiration for how you’ve been able to hold your institute together. Certainly no easy task under any circumstances and especially now. You are quite the talent. Each day you manage to pull things off is certainly a noble feat. But then, a lot of folks seem to be counting on your efforts to do so. You certainly mean a lot to so many.

So stay strong and as healthy as you can.

Lots of respect, admiration & love,

    Steve &Tiya

My Goddess Dr. Suzy is always one High Heel ahead of the Zeitgeist. And with all the real and faked grief, Artificial Ignorance, the Billionaire Mind Virus, war, genocide and mayhem, we all need to heal our mental health.

Thank You for Your Healing Resolution for the New Year. I wish I could kneel at Your feet as You write, cry, laugh, grieve, mourn, celebrate, teach, philosophize and orgasm.

So mystical – Dr. Block rising up like the Goddess of Grief from a collage of history, love, romance, bonobos, Palestine flags, peace activism and wild crazy parties, carrying Max’s ashes.

Dazzling collage of images and beautiful new Bonobo Manifesto from a bacchanalian romance embraced by grief. Thanatos follows Eros, as he must. And we must go bonobos in 2026 and continue to have hope – on the horizon beyond the sheer black veil.

As America enters the New Year on a wave of war and plunder, Dr. Susan Block heralds a New Year of the Bonobo: Peace through sharing pleasures, not stealing oil. I’m going bonobos in 2026. I wish everyone would.

So if Erika Kirk is the AntiChrist and the way she cries and smiles glitters and grifts as she “grieves” for her oddly assassinated husband makes her sure seem like that or something stranger and sinister-y-er, then Dr. Suzy is the Angel of Authenticity. #GoBonobos in 2026 is my jam!

I don’t know how many years it’s been since we last corresponded, but either way it’s been too long. I just read your piece in CounterPunch this morning, and I wanted to send you my condolences on your heartbreaking loss. I know there really are no words to adequately articulate the kind of grief you’re going through, nor can I properly express my sympathy in a short email. But, given these limitations, I want you to know that I am thinking of you and keeping you in my thoughts.

I may have mentioned this to you before, but I have known about you and your work for more years than I’d care to admit. Reading your piece today opened my eyes because I truly had no idea about the whole origin story of Bonoboville or the history of your relationship. I read it with joy and tears, probably the only way to read something like that.

All my love to you and the entire Bonoboville community. And, of course, to the memory of Captain Max. He had the great fortune of sharing his life with a remarkable woman like you. May his memory be honored in the sexiest and most peaceful ways.

Dr. Suzy is wise to look to the bonobos as role models for grieving instead of Wowza Widow of the Year Erika Kirk. Seriously. Go Bonobos in 2026

Beautiful and powerful message — honoring love, grief, and the spirit of connection. Let’s all go bonobos this year — living with more compassion, pleasure, and peace in whatever ways we can. Thank you for sharing your love and truth and inspiring us to carry the Bonobo Way forward.

Going bonobos in 2026 isn’t just a call to pleasure — it’s a call to love harder, grieve deeper, and fight for what matters. ✨ Sending so much strength and solidarity to Dr. Suzy in her grief and for her beautiful powerful vision — peace through pleasure is resistance, and saving the bonobos is saving our own capacity for compassion. Let’s rise, love loud, protect our wild kin and take care of each other.

I never understood the anthropodenial people; if you have empathy and basic understanding, you can see how much animals think and feel and understand. We are living breathing creatures with mostly the same parts, just different expression. Happy New Years to Bonoboville!

Beautiful. It’s clear that Max wasn’t just your partner. You were each other’s muse and everything in between. I hope you continue to find moments of joy, even when things feel impossible.
