Four days after Facebook congratulated me on having so many followers that I needed two-step verification, I received a message that Lord Marky Z’s META fiefdom was shutting me down—and shutting me out—suddenly and “permanently” banishing me from Facebook—and Instagram!

Within moments, my recently pumped-up META self was taken all the way down by AI (Artificial Ignorance) and executed, erased and ejected into a virtual mass grave. I felt like I’d just been attacked by one of those mechanical dogs, bitten and beaten up… but not beaten down.

This is META Execution—with no trial, no witnesses, just a firing squad of bots.

First off, I haven’t been totally banned. My Facebook group, Dr. Suzy’s Speakeasy, is still up, as are our pages, the Dr. Susan Block Show featuring “Sex Calls,” the Dr. Susan Block Institute, Bonoboville, The Bonobo Way, Block Books, The Chef, Saybrook Media, Clip-O-Rama and other pages as well, such as our “Villa Bonobo” account. It’s my personal “Susan M Block” Facebook profile—as well as my Instagram account—that are now “permanently suspended.”

Many of us have done time in “Facebook Jail” for a week or maybe a month, but this is Meta Execution—with no trial, no witnesses, just a firing squad of bots.

Why? As is often the case with AI (Artificial Ignorance)-controlled social media, no stated reason was given except that my account had somehow “Violated Community Standards.” This vague but vicious allegation—attributed to almost everyone who is censored and/or suspended—is as insulting as it is absurd. Violated? In fact, it is Lord Marky Z who violated me, tearing down my harmless, ecosexual little garden in the midst of his vast toxic fiefdom, banishing me from the land. Adding insult to the injury of termination, he cut me off from friends, family, fans, fellow Yalies, colleagues and community.

Well, karma’s coming down fast as the Block Curse which took down YouTube Censor-in-Chief Susan Wojcicki is already messing with META.

At least we get many Callin comments and calls of solidarity. Multiple SUZY award winner Chris Gagliardi calls in from New Jersey to offer his profound support in an emotional, inspirational, deeply moving statement and intriguing idea about forming a union (or putting together a class action suit!). He also excoriates Facebook and IG, and promises to fight for my profile restoration with the hashtag #JusticeforDrSusanMBlock.

After that, Max roasts all the rich and clueless FB, IG and YT CEOs—and their spouses—by name!

Burt calls in to endorse The Block Curse taking down META in a Bonobo Way, wondering if the increase in social media censorship and upheaval will drive more people to Bonoboville. All FB, IG and YT refugees are welcome!

Late in the show, Brady calls in to “push back” on our critique of AI censorship, pointing out that AI erotica can be hot. Sure, AI can put some cool spins on erotica and all kinds of art (we like Robbie Martin’s wild anti-war AI movies)—like hyper-real cartoons—but that hardly makes up for its destructive blunders.

We also discuss the dangers of the other AI: Ammosexual Incels on Crusade. Yikes, one way or another, AI is after everybody.

Bankrupt Vice & My Annus Horribilus

Adding to the avalanche of social media censorship crashing down and burying my virtual life, comes a big boulder of bad business news in regular media. That is, our Vice TV special, featuring our beautiful bacchanalian Bonoboville Reunion, a Speakeasy dinner, in-depth interviews with me, Max, some of our real sex therapy clients, favorite guests and more, was scheduled to air at the end of May—which would mean next week if things were normal—BUT things are not normal. Vice is going bankrupt!

Yep, the timing is perfectly terrible. For over a year, a certain Vice producer has been calling me, zooming with me, then filming us for an action-packed weekend, editing, requesting more footage, photos and testimonials, assuring me that the piece is fantastic, that I am his favorite of all the documentary subjects he’s covered and blah-blah-blah-love-ya-baby… until Monday, I see in the news that Vice is filing Chapter 11, and then suddenly, my adoring producer is not returning my phone calls.

Well, that’s Hollywood, in a way—a potentially breakthrough piece was just about to air, only to go up in smoke due to the whole huge company burning through bankruptcy.

So, I’m sad about all of us. I’m sad for me, sad for you, sad for Capt’n Max, sad for Bonoboville, sad for society, sad for what’s happening to us and through us, sad for all the people being fired, replaced by the Artificial Ignorance that is harming the rest of us. I’m sad for all the lonely people—where do they all come from? But mostly sad for me, because I’m me. Sorry about that, but I don’t want you to feel sorry for me. So, it’s a tightrope I’m walking, between being victimized and not wanting to be a silly social media victim, trying to put one foot in front of the other on the wobbling tightrope and not fall into the lake of fire below, a burgeoning blaze rising up from hundreds of books burning like out of a newsreel of the Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld Institute’s books being torched by Nazis.

Stepping back, I see clouds of smoke billowing throughout the nation, each plume denoting a strike against freedom.  Voices like mine that champion sex positivity and free speech are under attack—my Facebook and IG account nuked, my YouTube channel obliterated. Institutions that research and explore sexuality like the Kinsey Institute are being defunded. Censorship in schools is rampant and hundreds of valuable books are being banned.  Now more than ever we need the Bonobo Way to get us back on the right path.

Donning my broken crown, I do declare 2023 to be my Media Annus Horribilus—and it’s not even half-over! Gemini is underway, which is usually my favorite time of year, it being my birthday soon—and it’s almost Unscene Abe’s birthday too!

Well, onward and forward on the tightrope, while juggling two dildos and a Vulva Puppet!

“Deep Throat” in LA!

Speaking of sex, the iconic and very controversial Deep Throat—that broke box office records, played a key role in the Sexual Revolution and helped to force Tricky Dick Nixon to resign—is coming to LA for its 50th anniversary!

As we discussed last week, I first saw it on a date. Yes, believe it or not, Deep Throat was a Date Movie back in the 1970s. Still, I was shocked at the sight of genitalia on the big screen, and very hairy genitalia at that, though after a few minutes, my eyes and emotions adjusted and I enjoyed it!

Now I can’t wait to serve as moderator for three talkback panels after the LA screenings. However, it’s been 40 years since I saw the film, so Deep Throat director Gerard Damiano’s son Gerard Damiano Jr. just sent me a screener that I planned to watch before this live FDR broadcast; unfortunately, my viewing plans were disrupted by the FB/IG censorship avalanche and the Vice TV bankruptcy bomb that dropped on me. 

I did manage to catch the opening that includes Linda Lovelace driving a vintage Cadillac and the first joke of the film, delivered with aplomb by a sultry Cougar, Dolly Sharp (who was in fact Helen Wood, a Broadway performer who as a teen had a major role in a musical “Give the Girl a Break”), sitting on a table with a guy between her legs going down on her. Dolly requests a cigarette and then asks the cunning linguist between her legs, “Mind if I smoke while you’re eating?” And then the sex—hairy genitalia in full flower (just like I remember it, but not so shocking)—gets underway.

The LA area screenings where I will moderate talkbacks will be held on the following days and at the following locations:

–          Friday, June 2^nd: Laemmle Royal in West Los Angeles

–          Saturday, June 3^rd: 910 WeHo in West Hollywood (VIP party after the screening!)

–          Monday, June 5^th: Frida Cinema in Santa Ana

Life—whether Real or Reel or Virtual—certainly has its whiplash-inducing ups and downs, no doubt. Annus Horribilis and all, I am incredibly grateful for all the goodness that is ours.
