I feel like I’ve been torn between sex and God my whole life! Going through periods where I’m abstinent (masturbating like crazy in secret though), shunning sex, and refraining from any flirtaciousness with men. As a result I’m terribly lonely, still horny, and miserable. THEN I go through these periods where I throw out all the rules, have fun, interact with men, and reconnect with my own body. But that too has its consequences. For example, I tend to isolate myself from church because I’ve been made to feel that what I’m doing is so wrong and dirty, and I have to repent for it on the spot. And if I’m NOT SORRY for my sins, then there’s really something wrong, like I’m controlled by demons. I’ve been searching around the internet for other Christians who experience the same pulls in their walk, and have found peace. If you know of any sites, let me know. By the way, Ricardo may not be incorrect. Daoists believe CHI is the life energy of a man. When ejaculation occurs, that energy is lost. Some practioners discipline themselves to only cum once a year or every six months. I think sex with a man like that would be quite interesting!

In some cases, religion does give common sense guide lines as to what to do and not do in sex, and in other areas, it is excessive and bizarre. It does not take divine inspiration to see certain sexual practices as sick and twisted, such as child molestation and bestiality. A lot of the more twisted and perverted sexual elements are practiced by certain religious individuals. Also the Catholics do not have a monopoly on this sick practice. Unfortunately, we will probably never know the full extent the fundamentalists are involved in child molestation. If you dissect the word fundamentalism, you see it contain the word mental. It also contains the word fund which means money. So it is basically insanity for profit. Because it is about money and controlling people mentally, it is a powerful element in the republican arsenal.

But I guess you’re just full of sperm. Let it go! Your notion of the benefits of sperm retention are as ridiculous as St. Paul’s ideas that celibacy was healthy. I’m sure Dr. Block would agree.Rox

It’s very bad for a man to loose too much sperm. Sperm is way more nutritious than blood and takes abuot 3 days to replenish last I heard and I bet that was conditional on a nutritious diet, not a big mac and some fries. Loosing too much sperm leaves you devitaized and very stupid, probably why women are smarter than men on average. Think of this, phallus, encaphollus one relates to the brain, they are competing for the same nutrients, loose to much sperm, loose your IQSo please don’t encourage men to loose thier seed like they let go of urine.

The sexual nature of Christ has intrigued me all my life. As a catholic, I had always found the restrictive nature of the liturgy at odds with what seemed the rather libertine attitude of Christ found in the Gospels, and I believe Christ’s sexiness is indeed one of the great mysteries of the religion. In any case I am writing to inform you of a a seminal text regarding the subject, “The Sexuality of Christ in Renaissance Art and in Modern Oblivion” by Leo Steinberg. It is an amazing dissertation that would be right up your alley. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ ASIN/0226771873/qid=1112312855/sr=2- 1/ref=pd_ka_b_2_1/002-1816404-0144835 Thanks for your wonderful attitude towards sex, and your great humor in the face of contemporary mores, Robert Daulton

And I’d like to add a couple of thoughts.Abstinence is violating God’s will. After all, he made man and woman with the urge, even the need, to have sex. So abstinence is a sin.On the issue of teenage contraception or teenage abortion: Girls do not have to have parental approval to have sex or to become pregnant. Why should they have to have parental approval to avoid pregnancy? Thanks for your good work.Horace
