I loved your essay GoBonobos in 2019 on the Counter Punch website… Of the thousands of prostitutes I’ve known, both male and female, I’ve never met a pimp yet that wasn’t under the complete control of the prostitute, the so-called pimp exists primary as a boogie man to frighten any trick that might contemplate harming the sex worker, the so-called pimp gets no cut of the profits other than to cover expenses. And, yes, many prostitutes themselves, don’t know this; the pimp is just as much a mythical being as witches were in the day. They serve a purpose, but they aren’t really real. But, you probably already knew that. Anyway, thanks for the article.
