I just read your essay in Counterpunch. Super! Yes! Make Kink Not War! Couldn’t agree more, and as I age and the USA gets even worse in its puritanical repression, I find my happiness and inner peace impaired compared to even 15 years ago. I am as homosexual as it is possible to be, I think, and I know for a fact that a few hours of body worship, making out, tongue everywhere I can put it, followed by a nice bit of light flogging in velcro restraints followed by watersports and my inevitable super orgasm in such scenes…leaves me flooded with good feelings and a much nicer person for days after.

With vile US politics and a mostly sexless long term relationship I am progressively crabbier.

So I am writing to say my personal empirical evidence says you are absolutely correct.

Thanks for your helpful essay. I plan to share the link with a couple of friends who also know of the Bonobos and are kinksters.

I really cannot find any reason to not adopt the Bonobo way as a way of life. Look what is going on outside of it. War, poverty, corruption from both parties, gang violence, drug violence, indifference, selfishness, drug addiction which depression and stress led to with many of it sexual insecurities cultural norm and social hang ups installed. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. And judgement on lets say Rihanna whom clearly embraced her inner Bonobo like many in the porn field who are horribly judged just for embracing one of the most basic of human natures.

These Bonobos are a powerful reminder to humanity that oneness and cooperation sponsored by the females is the basis for a happy existence. Perhaps we can a learn a little from their example. Dr Suzy wrote a book about it called The Bonobo Way. It documents Bonobo society where everyone gets their needs met, including the males!
