Max, I support body positivity. Seriously I do. And like Jack Nice, I enjoy a woman with a bit of curves but I have to agree with ya, the whole Great American Expansion has reach epidemic levels. But can we really blame the people? Who have been born and bred within the confines of a war-fueled capitalist society? Seriously, I’ve traveled around the area and one of the major issues is the fact that there really isn’t any local access to nutrient dense food. The area– and many parts of LA– is peppered with fast food chains, quick stop liquor stores. It feels like the weigh gain has become an institutionalized norm. For my height and weight I’m often the minority, probably because I don’t stuff my face with a bunch of fast food, and (at least try) to keep physically active.

So much so that I’m able to at once enjoy the reportback of the burly burlesque competition, along with photos of the show itself and yet still hear some differing viewpoints. In my other life, I’m a weightloss consultant with a holistic whole foods focus, so, along the lines Max presents, I feel health is the objective reason for watching one’s weight while at the same time accepting one’s self and being active… I will say, though, I saw a small clip of some awesome footage tonight from the competition and was quite inspired!… Beautiful and celebratory! Additionally, shaking it is a big part of getting fit, with the addition of more fresh fruits and vegetables.

I’m a big supporter of humanity, well not all of humanity. I was excited to go because when I was a young man of 16 I worked in Vaudeville variety show and traveled around Italy (I did imitations of Elvis) with an amazing bevy of women from many different countries. They were beautiful, stunning. Italy was still a very poor country then (1957) and lots of these variety acts attracted women who wanted to earn money to send home to their families. The side work for some of the dancers was selling a little sex on the side.

So when I arrived at the theater, I was rather shocked, as my memory did not include a display of so many over-sized women. It wasn’t very sexy for me, in fact I was rather turned off. It’s one thing to see a beautiful curvy woman, it’s another thing to see what I can only say were some just really fat women shaking their ass on stage. The couple next to me left, I stayed at least to support the art and any woman, fat or skinny to explore and participate in such an event.

Problem was I could only image those big gulp sodas, McDonald’s hamburgers, french fries, apple pie etc. To disrespect your body like that is a terrible crime. I know, I struggle with my weight all the time but to reach those levels is down right suicidal.

I’m glad fat has been liberated, but I’m sorry that we have come to this. Finally, the venue was filthy. Not what I remembered from my wonderful travels in burlesque when I was just a young man.

In african culture there is a tradition of big women being the standard for female beauty in places like Tunisia they force women to drink this nasty lard concoction to be suitably zaftig to find a husband. Big women are definitely the standard for female beauty for my African friends, and that carries over into African American culture as well, its a fairly traditionalist kind of thing in that ultimately in cultures that didn’t have prenatal care a well fed woman was far more likely to survive child birth as well as holding up to the absolutely grueling demands of traditional motherhood.

Me I appreciate all people the Jack Nice way is about having love and appreciation for everyone, even ugly senior fellows with bad social skills like Donald Sterling lmfao, if he needs to have someone to talk to he can call the institute any time Donald, we’re here for you 24/7 I’m sure you have a lot to talk about after losing the Clippers to that retired Microsoft nerd who I admit looks kind of cute in some weird dom-ish way.
