What a trip! Thanks to your inspiration and the energy and ingenuity of the students, Sex Week at Yale is a force to be reckoned with, creating real CHANGE on the college campus. When are they building the Susan Block Center for Peace through Pleasure at Yale?

As I said, I would like to give a 13 week seminar at Yale. So I may seek your advice as to how to make a presentation to the bosses at Yale.

HI Susan, I remember you vividly from the Yale evening. Thank you for your participation. I would be delighted to talk with you on the radio. But I will need to do it after May, as I am utterly overwhelmed with finishing my next book. Nice to meet you and I hope we can reconnect in the early summer. Happiness to you, Helen

Susan–Great stories, always interested when you return to Old Eli and inspire us with new revelations on current sex conditions. However, when we undergrads, straight from Crown Street Theater, came “DEEP THROAT” with the marvelous talents of Linda Lovelace, who later claimed she was forced to perform. Ah, but what a performance. We of the Baker-Patrick-Romero porn committee gave it a A+. It showed continuously over two days at Lindsey-Clit to sold out audiences at $2. a person. Keep up the excellent work and Lynne and I will call again soon.Romo & Lynne

Dr. Susan, I just want to thank you for everything you do for everyone, not just here on your blog, but in person, for real, across the country and around the world….I don’t really know if people thank you as often and as much as we should, and I know you have to deal with a lot of assholes, so I just wanted to personally thank you. Kudos to the courage and enlightenment of these Yale kids who have such vision and understanding that sex is a critical element in the well-being of our culture and family. What better place than Yale Law School to present such a controversial subject as porn that future lawyers will have to defend or prosecute. My hat is off to all of you.Best wishes for continued success.Chris

Hey Dr. Block,Yeah, the use of the term “slut” evokes a lot of strange reactions. Yale is an interesting place inasmuch as it is very open about its sexual debauchery and yet very PC at the same time. The net result is that it seems to get more press for this sort of thing than most other schools. The wonderful thing about a training in science (and I’ve only had a halfway decent training in science) is that it teaches you one thing: if your experience conflicts with the expectations of your theory, then your theory is bad. The anti-sex feminists have never been able to come to terms with the fact that yes, women are grown-ups and are free to define themselves and that, hence, if a woman wants to call herself a slut or have sex with her boss or, for that matter, be a churchgoing housewife, then she isn’t exemplifying “false consciousness” (a term, I recently learned, invented by Lenin to describe why the proletariat didn’t support the revolution) and she doesn’t fail to be a “real woman.” No matter how often they come to loggerheads with reality, no matter how many times they might experience a strong, independent woman who enjoys her sexuality and doesn’t claim victimization, they won’t let go of the asinine theory that women who stray from the party line are gender reactionaries. It’s really sad that people like those at the Yale Women’s Center (bet you thought that, with a name like that, they’d be somewhat sexually progressive, huh?) have spent a generation misleading young women about their value and their freedom. “Keep your laws off my body” applies to them too.P.S. Quote of the day (and totally unrelated to the issue at hand): “It might not be the Mayflower, but your wife came over on it.”

Susan, I’m also a Jewish Pagan Ethical Hedonist Bonobo. Seriously. I’m surprised that Yale has a week that’s even remotely related to sex. I think I missed that week during my three years there. Cheers, Ben (Yale Law ’98)
